Retinal Imaging at Gamble & Creswell
The arrival of our TopCon NW100 Fundus Camera, linked to our already tried and tested patient database ‘Optisoft’, now enables us to take photographs of the retinas of our patients. These retinal images are stored in the database along with the usual patient details, such as name, address, refraction and details of any optical appliance dispensed.
Thus by storing these photographs and viewing the multiple images – perhaps over several visits, it is now possible to document changes in the retina which we could previously only describe in words, or at best hand draw, with understandably poor detail and accuracy.
This new technology is helping us offer new standards of care to our patients and has greatly improved the level of relevant clinical information we can relate to a patients G.P. or if they are being referred for Ophthalmologists opinion.
New Practice operational in Keady…
Casserly and Creswell Optometrists opened in Bridge Street in Keady in October 2003.
This is a joint venture between Marcella Casserly and David Creswell and the practice has gone from strength to strength with patient numbers building.
Obviously Gamble and Creswell and Casserly and Creswell are closely linked and there is some degree of ‘cross-over’ between the two practices, with some members of a particular family choosing to be seen at the Armagh practice, whilst others find it more convenient to be seen at the Keady practice.
